If your original deeds go missing, you may need to apply to the Property Registration Authority (PRA) for a reconstitution of title — a slow and costly legal process. Secure storage prevents this problem.

Does the HSE require original deeds for the Fair Deal Scheme?

Yes. The HSE usually requires access to your title deeds when calculating the Nursing Home Support Scheme (Fair Deal) contribution and registering a charge against the property.
